30 Day Photo Challenge-Day 9

Day 9 - A picture of the person who has
gotten you through the most.

It seems appropriate that Day 9 fell on Mom's birthday. My mother is arguably the most amazing person I've ever known. She has been there for me in all ways necessary for the past 28+ years, and I don't know what I'd do without her. Happy 60th birthday, Mom. You make me want to be a better, more loving person. I love you.

30 Day Photo Challenge-Day 8

Day 8 - A picture that makes you laugh.

Remember when I said our wedding day was THE most fun day of my life? This picture, maybe one of the FUNNIEST pictures ever! I love it because it's so completely my brother and sister-in-law! We're a fun bunch. :)

30 Day Photo Challenge-Days 6 & 7

Day 6 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day.

I love Candace Cameron Bure. It amazes me that she is able to stay so grounded and committed to her faith in Hollywood. I may not want to actually trade places with her, but I'd LOVE to hang out with her for a day!

Day 7 - A picture of your most treasured item.

It's super cheesey, I know, but my engagement ring is definitely the most treasured item I have. For me, it's symbolic of so much: Michael's love, my commitment, God's blessing on our marriage. It's a daily reminder that I choose to love and be committed to my husband.

30 Day Photo Challenge-Day 5

Day 5 - A picture of your favorite memory.

I loved EVERY SECOND of our wedding day! When I think about August 1, 2009, I remember marrying my best friend, but I also remember how FUN IT WAS!! This picture is the epitome of that fun. Best. Day. Ever.

30 Day Photo Challenge-Day 4

Day 4 - A picture of something you'll never forget

Never in a million years would I have thought I would finish a half-marathon! When my friend Beth suggested I train for one I thought she was crazy! Train I did, though and while I still wish I hadn't walked as much as I did, it was an accomplishment I will never forget! My amazing friends (Beth [left] and Chrisanne [right]) ran it with me even though they weren't registered. Now, THAT'S the sign of a dedicated friend! Thanks for the memories, girls!

30 Day Photo Challenge-Day 3

Day 3 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show.

Sorry, guys. It's a tie. While I can recite nearly every line from Friends, I've been a devoted How I Met Your Mother fan since the show aired in 2005. In my dream world, Mike and I have friends like these characters; we hang out together, have inside jokes, and drink coffee or beer, depending on the venue. In the real world, I'm grateful that these shows have given me inside jokes with people I love; "Animals dressed as humans!" and "Legen--wait for it--dary!"

30 Day Photo Challenge-Day 2

Day 2: A picture of you & a person you used to be close with

Natalie was my first best friend. We met when I moved into a new school during the middle of my 5th grade year. This picture was taken shortly after that. We were on an overnight field trip at a camp. Throughout middle school and high school Natalie was a true constant. Many of my formative memories include her. First viewings of cult classics: Reality Bites, Empire Records, and Pulp Fiction. Learning about good music: 10,000 Maniacs, Counting Crows, Ben Folds Five. Dating older boys, kissing older boys, smoking with older boys...okay, not everything was necessarily positive, but all of those experiences taught me something about myself. After we went away to college, we'd run into one another occasionally, but I haven't seen her in about four years now. Since she's not on Facebook, I'm not sure where she is. If any of you have a clue, let me know.

30 Day Photo Challenge-Day 1

My lovely sister had this 30 Day Challenge posted as an album on her Facebook. (Apparently, EVERYONE in college is doing this!) I thought it looked fun/awesome/insightful. Instead of putting it on Facebook though, I'm sharing it with the twelve of you who follow me here. Get excited!

Day 1: A picture of yourself with 5 facts.

Fact #1: My best friend in the world is my husband, Michael Berry Samples. He's pretty much the only person I don't get tired of being with, and since we love many of the same things, it's easy to find things we love to do together!

Fact #2: I'm terrified of growing up. I spent much of my childhood longing for these days, but now that they're here, it's a bit scary.

Fact #3: Almonds are my favorite! Whether it's the nut or the mere flavor, I'm a sucker for almonds. I even put almond extract in Rice Krispie treats when I make them. Soooooo goood!

Fact #4: The older I get the more I cherish my family and the friends I call family.

Fact #5: I love organization, but often get behind in it. If you could see my desk right now, you'd understand.
